Policy on Similarity Checking and Originality of Work
The journal “Ahrar Biannual Journal of Private Law Research” screens all submitted manuscripts for textual similarity before entering the peer-review process, using the Hamtajoo system and, where necessary, other reputable tools.
The similarity percentage is only one of the evaluation criteria, and the final decision is not made solely based on the similarity score; rather, the nature of the similarities, the types of sources, scientific originality, innovation, and the scholarly value of the manuscript are also taken into account. Items such as properly documented quotations, common legal phrases, statutory texts, and the reference list are not necessarily considered research misconduct.
Manuscripts that require further review will be returned to the author for revision or clarification. Manuscripts with a similarity rate of more than 5% may also be accepted, at the discretion of the journal, provided that they demonstrate innovation, originality, and scholarly value and receive final approval from the Editor-in-Chief, the Managing Director, and the Editorial Board.
If plagiarism or any form of research misconduct is confirmed at any stage of evaluation or after publication, the journal will act in accordance with publication ethics guidelines by rejecting the manuscript, suspending the review process, issuing corrections, or retracting the article.
